課程概述 |
This course is about chemical reaction kinetics and its applications. Kinetics involves time and change, and how to obtain useful information from the time dependent data. |
|
課程目標 |
The students are expected to learn the following.
1. Basic rection kinetics, including
(a) reactions of various orders (0th, 1st, 2nd orders, etc. )
(b) competing and sequential reactions, and steady-state approximation
(c) temperature dependence (Arrhenius equation, etc.)
(d) numerical simulation
2. Photochemistry, including
photo-absorption
photo-induced reactions like photo-dissociation, etc.
3. Applications, including
(a) global CH4 production rate
(b) UV-B transmittance of the ozone layer
and others
4. Transition State Theory, including
partition functions
